MEGA Event (by Lapid and Israel Experience)

Posted in Special on 27. Jul, 2010

Last week, all of the Young Judaea Summer Programs groups were separated from their usual bus mates as they participated in a variety of Special Interest Week activities. It is always difficult for the groups, which have been steadily bonding together, to suddenly separate.  Each day of the program is intense, and a week apart can seem like a year.  Thankfully, this makes the reuniting of the group all the more sweet at the end of Special Interest Week. On Thursday, when the groups came back together, they had the opportunity to share stories with one another from their individual activities as they continue on with their group experience.

Thursday afternoon and evening was very special for all of the groups because the attended The Lapid Mega Event. This unique opportunity brought together thousands of summer Israel programs participants from around the world! Everyone was treated to a fabulous concert by the Israeli band Subliminal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subliminal_(rapper)) followed by fireworks! Both staff and participants agreed it was an extremely fun and exciting experience!

"Having Israelis in our group was a cool experience for me. I got to understand what it was like for someone my age to grow up in Israel. "
  • Parents Say:

"Rebecca had the time of her life, came home with a new appreciation for Israel after seeing it through the eyes of Young Judaea. Thank you for everything. She is even interested in learning more about your Year Course in Israel, when we are up to that."
