Maccabiah

Maccabiah is a spectacular, two-day festival on the beaches of the Sea of Galilee. During Maccabiah, all our groups, including those from the Federation of Zionist Youth, our sister movement in Great Britain, come together for games, competitions, performances and fireworks. It’s one giant beach party at the beginning of August!

Close your eyes and imagine… a thousand Jewish teens on a private beach at the Sea of Galilee. Americans, British, Israelis…There are four days left in the summer…it’s been a great experience…but who will reign supreme as the group with ultimate bragging rights?

“Maccabiah was the pinnacle of the summer, without a doubt. One of the great things about it was the magnitude of the experience. The sheer number of participants was unmatched by any other event of the summer. Maccabiah was anonstop emotional roller coaster. The teams were cheering, jumping, dancing, singing, or competing at sports at every moment. Winning along with a British team, we bonded with that group and even swapped t-shirts! Hugging and congratulating the other winning team was an awesome display of sportsmanship.” -Judah Levenson; Morristown, NJ

Maccabiah!
Open your eyes, paint your face, and scream as loud as you can because it’s Maccabiah. You’ll battle more than 20 other groups in volleyball, soccer, tug-of-war, and other events while cheering on your teammates with all of your energy. When you’re not in competition, you’ll have a blast spending time with participants from every group at the disco, on the beach, and camping out under the stars!

“MACCABIAH WAS INCREDIBLE!!!! I honestly cannot say enough to someone to make them understand – the opening night ceremony was indescribable. Seeing a group of 40 kids become so close was all I could’ve asked for. After spending five incredible weeks together, we are all best friends and love each other like CRAZY!” – Brittany Youngman; Solon, OH
